Storyboards (The Clock-Maker)

These storyboards were for a short film project started by a co-worker of mine. It depicts a clock-maker who comes in to his shop, starts building a clock, leaves to make a cup of tea, resumes building, finishes the clock, gets up to gather his things, then starts to leave, before taking a lingering glance at his worktop, then leaves for real. The story was about the clock-makers last day at his shop which is closing due to redundancy (a larger and better stocked general store has recently opened nearby), the film was supposed to be a meditative mood piece with melancholic tone that illustrates this through lingering shots and meaningful close ups.

I was brought on to do the storyboards since no one else had the time, however the project was never finished due to a falling out among some of the other crew members. Its a shame since, while lacking a concrete plot, I thought it was a neat idea and was looking forward to developing it further, and the clock shop we used to film the sequence really was an incredible space with a lot of storytelling potential. Still, it was an interesting foray into story-boarding.
