Desert Dragon

The sand dragon went through the most revisions narratively, as when I started out I didn’t really have clear idea of what this character was about other than it was dessert based. There were physical characteristics I had in mind, such as Running or tunneling instead of flying, so I started out from there.

As a dragon that dwells primarily around sand, the most prominent features I went with for the body revolved around scales and bony skeletal structures.

Out of the sketches I’ve drawn thus far the ones under the “dessert” heading were definitely the most lizard like, possibly due to the majority of dessert dwelling creatures are reptiles.
